Disney Channel's Phil Breman Joins NBC
He'll serve as vp current programming and oversee several new comedies and dramas for the 2013-14 broadcast season.
NBC is adding a Disney Channel alum.
Phil Breman, who served as executive director original series at Disney Channel, has joined NBC as vp current programming. In his new role, Breman will oversee several of the network's new dramas and comedies for the 2013-14 broadcast season. He will report to Vernon Sanders, exec vp current programming at NBC Entertainment.
Breman exited his post with Disney Channel in March. He had been with the cable network since 2008, and he spearheaded the development and production of all live-action television series, including Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, ANT Farm, Jessie, Austin & Ally, Dog With a Blog and its upcoming Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World.
Prior to that, he was a writer and producer at Paramount Pictures, where he served as writer-producer on the sitcom Raising Dad and served in the same role during a stint at Warner Bros. on For Your Love.
The role is a homecoming of sorts for the executive, who in the '90s served as a primetime series coordinator for NBC.
