Disney Interactive acquires Wideload Games
Alexander Seropian named vp of creative, Disney InteractiveNEW YORK -- Walt Disney's Disney Interactive Studios has acquired Wideload Games, a Chicago-based producer of original games.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, industry veteran Alexander Seropian, one of the creators of the "Halo" game franchise, will take on the new role as vp of creative for Disney Interactive. He will oversee the company's global creative efforts.
Disney Interactive said Wideload will focus on creating "new intellectual properties for Disney that target a broad audience." It is already developing a family console game scheduled for release by Disney Interactive next year.
