Disney Movies Anywhere Expands to Amazon, Microsoft Devices
Amazon Video and Microsoft Movies & TV both now support Disney's digital movie locker.
Disney Movies Anywhere is coming to Amazon and Microsoft customers.
The movie service, which acts as a sort of digital locker for people to store their online movie purchases and access them from multiple devices, has added support for Amazon Video and Microsoft Movies & TV. The Disney Movies Anywhere app is also now available on Amazon devices, including Fire tablets, Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, and Microsoft's Xbox 360.
The addition of new devices comes on the same day as the digital release of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron.
On Sept. 15, the Disney Movies Anywhere will become available on Roku and Android TV devices.
Disney Movies Anywhere launched in February 2014 on Apple devices, making it possible for consumers to download and watch more than 400 Disney titles across any of the tech giant's devices. Months later, it added support for Android devices.
"We're thrilled to bring these new partners to Disney Movies Anywhere, expanding its reach into the living room and beyond with an unprecedented Disney experience that is both easy and fun," said Janice Marinelli, president of home entertainment and distribution for Disney.
