Disney, Viacom, Discovery, Twitter Execs Set for Abu Dhabi Media Summit
Keynote speakers for the fourth annual invitation-only gathering of industry leaders, whose theme will be "Levering the Digital Age," will be announced later.
Top executives from the Walt Disney Co., Viacom, Discovery Networks International, Twitter and Google will speak at this year's Abu Dhabi Media Summit, organizers announced on Wednesday.
Specific speaker names and the event's keynote presenters will be revealed later.
The fourth annual invitation-only gathering of industry leaders will have the theme "Levering the Digital Age."
Latest research from management consulting firms Booz & Co. and McKinsey will also be unveiled during the event, according to organizers.
In past years, speakers have included Rupert Murdoch, Bill Gates, WME boss Ari Emanuel, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt and director James Cameron.
Held under the patronage of General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the event is organized by twofour54, the commercial arm of the emirate's media zone.
"The Abu Dhabi Media Summit has become one of the leading media industry thought-leadership platforms worldwide with a particular focus on the regional relevance of global industry trends," said Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Media Summit and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority. "The Summit’s focus on media entrepreneurship and youth in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region will provide Arab youth and students the opportunity to engage with media leaders and fuel the increasing appeal of the media industry as a sophisticated career choice, which is critical to Abu Dhabi’s long-term ambitions for a sustainable media industry."
The Abu Dhabi Media Summit will run Oct. 22-24.
