'Divergent' Star Shailene Woodley Wasn't Intimidated to Play Beloved Character (Video)
The actress and co-star Theo James also talked about signing on for three movies before the latest book was even written and whether they're prepared for their lives to change as a result of the movie.
Divergent star Shailene Woodley is starring in what could be one of the biggest films of the year, but she doesn't seem too worried about it.
The actress just sighed when she was asked on Wednesday's Today show about whether she was prepared for her life to change as a result of the movie, which is tracking to potentially earn $70 million in its opening weekend.
Co-star Theo James, who plays Four, said they're trying not to think about that.

Woodley also said she wasn't daunted by the prospect of playing the main character of a beloved franchise of young-adult novels and didn't feel the need to fulfill fans' expectations of what the character should be.
"I feel like if we tried to portray a character that everybody else wanted it just would've been this mess of a human," Woodley said. "And when you're creating a movie, you're in the bubble of what that film is, and you kind of forget that other people know about it in a sense."
The actress also pointed out that she didn't even know where Tris' storyline was going when she signed on to the project, since the third book, Allegiant, hadn't even been written when she and James agreed to three films.
"We didn't even know," Woodley said. "Anything could've happened."

But James indicated he was prepared to make a long-term commitment to Four.
"You have to love the character because … potentially it's a big part of your life," he said. "I think there's a lot to be drawn on these characters, a lot of meat on the bones."
