Judge Michael A. Donio in Atlantic City, NJ, signed an order requesting that an aggravated-assault charge be dismissed based on the former Ravens running back successfully completing all terms and conditions of his pretrial intervention.

The domestic-violence charge against former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has been dismissed

Atlantic City, New Jersey judge Michael A. Donio signed a dismissal order sent over by the Atlantic County D.A. early Thursday morning. The order requested that a third-degree aggravated-assault charge against Rice be dismissed based upon Rice's successful completion of all terms and conditions of his pretrial intervention.

Rice reportedly agreed last year to undergo a pretrial intervention program, including anger-management counseling, that allowed him to avoid a criminal trial.

Rice, who was cut from the Ravens and suspended indefinitely from the NFL after video emerged of him knocking out then-fiancee Janay Palmer in an elevator, was reinstated to the NFL after an arbitrator ruled that Commissioner Roger Goodell's indefinite suspension was arbitrary. Rice has yet to sign with a team.
