V. Stiviano, described as the former girlfriend of the Los Angeles Clippers owner, has maintained through her attorney that she did not leak the tape to the gossip websites.

Donald Sterling, banned from attending NBA games for life after audio of his racist remarks was post online, has made a brief remark on the ensuing firestorm to the owner of a lifestyle magazine.

"I wish I had just paid her off," Sterling told Jason Binn, the founder and publisher of DuJour magazine, which ran the single comment in a short news item.

The remark is apparently directed at V. Stiviano, the woman heard in the audio tapes that were leaked to TMZ and Deadspin.

Stiviano, described as  the former girlfriend of the Los Angeles Clippers owner, has maintained through her attorney that she did not leak the tape to the gossip websites.

Sterling has not yet made a public response to commissioner Adam Silver's Tuesday statement that fined the owner $2.5 million and pledged to force a sale of the team.

A spokesperson for the Clippers organization has not yet responded to THR regarding the alleged comment.

The attorney for Stiviano, Mac E. Nehoray, also hasn't replied to a request for a statement.
