Donald Trump Criticizes Ted Cruz for Not Checking on Carly Fiorina After Fall: "Even I Would've Helped Her"
"And she went down right in front of him and he just kept talking. That was a weird deal," the billionaire businessman tells the crowd.
Donald Trump used Carly Fiorina's falling off stage while stumping for Ted Cruz as his latest way to take a jab at the Texas senator.
"By the way, she fell off the stage," Trump said during his rally in Carmel, Ind. "Did anybody see that? And Cruz didn't do anything. Even I would've helped her, OK?"
Footage of Fiorina's fall shows the former Hewlett-Packard CEO dropping off stage while Cruz walks out, seemingly unaware of what just happened in front of him.
"Wow, that's really cruel," Trump said of Cruz's seemingly lack of reaction. "She just went down. She went down a long way, right? And she went down right in front of him and he just kept talking. That was a weird deal."
Cruz's wife, Heidi, did see the tumble and immediately went to Fiorina's aid. After a few moments, Fiorina stood up, appearing to be OK, and hugged Heidi.
Cruz named Fiorina his running mate last week. She was formerly in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, but dropped out.
Trump is currently in the lead for the Republican nomination.
The Indiana primary is Tuesday.
