Donald Trump Denies He's Racist Because One 'Celebrity Apprentice' Winner Is Black

Donald Trump insists he's not racist.

Proof?

The 2005 winner of Celebrity Apprentice was black.

On Fox & Friends Monday morning, Trump discussed Color Of Change's campaign to get Celebrity Apprentice contestants Star Jones and Lil Jon to accuse Trump of "race-baiting" for his racially tinged political comments against President Obama.

"When it comes to racism and racists, I am the least racist person there is. And I think most people that know me would tell you that. I am the least racist. I've had great relationships," Trump insisted.

"In fact, Randal Pinkett won on The Apprentice a little while ago, a couple years ago, and Randal's been outstanding in every way,"  Trump went on. "So I am the least racist person. But [Van Jones] is a guy trying to get some publicity for himself by attacking Donald Trump."

Pinkett was the first African-American contestant to win the show.

Color of Change said in a statement:  "This is the first organized attempt to target these celebrities and demand that they, as prominent African-Americans, take a public stance against Donald Trump's ongoing attacks against President Obama." (Only Groupon pulled ads from the NBC show, which  faltered in the ratings Sunday.)

Trump has been accused of racism in the past. In 2004, his show was criticized for having a black contestant sell candy in front of a NYC subway, and the firing him for his "ambition,'' ''intensity" and having an ''unbelievable resume,” Talking Points Memo reports.

According to Salon.com, in the 1970s, Trump was sued by the federal government for discriminating against non-white renters in several of his New York buildings.
