"He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday."

By now, everyone knows that Kanye West is planning to run for president in 2020 thanks to his 13-minute speech at the MTV Video Music Awards -- even Donald Trump.

The presidential candidate for next year's election admitted to Rolling Stone that he was watching the awards when West boldly announced his plan to run for president in 2020. "I said, 'That's very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea,'" Trump told the magazine.

West's announcement sparked numerous comparisons of the rapper and Trump, including one by Jimmy Kimmel on Monday. Although Trump doesn't "quite get it," he doesn't seem to mind the idea of facing West in an election.

"He's said very nice things about me in the past ... extremely positive things," Trump said. "He's actually a different kind of person than people think. He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him someday."

If the two do end up going head-to-head in 2020, Trump knows he has already lost one celebrity's vote. "Miley Cyrus said, 'Oh, I was going to vote for Trump but now I'm voting for [Kanye],' so it sounded like she was all made up for me and he took her away."

Rihanna has even chimed in on the matter, saying a Yeezus presidency isn't out of the question. "I mean people are voting for [Donald] Trump," she said. "Who wouldn't vote for Kanye?"
