Donald Trump Victory Cake Becomes Instant Internet Gold
The reaction to the cake was swift and memes started to pop up almost instantly.
A cake made to resemble Donald Trump's bust was pictured and posted to social media on Tuesday, not long before polls began to close.
The reaction to the cake was swift and memes started to pop up almost instantly. Twitter users pointed out that the cake looked sad.
The cake is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and took 50 hours to make, decorator Melissa Alt of Melissa Alt Cakes told The Hollywood Reporter.
"It was such an unexpected surprise when the cake went viral," Alt told THR. "I'm so happy and still in shock, it's so nice to see how much people react and enjoy my art."
The cake was not the first social media moment of the day to catch on from the Trump side. Earlier in the morning, Trump was caught appearing to look at his wife's ballot while they were casting their votes in New York.
