Dress du Jour: Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Graphic Roksanda Dress

Stripes paired with lace might sound like sensory overload, but the actress' "less is more" approach to styling made it all mesh seamlessly

The Dress: A silk dupioni strapless column with a custom embroidered PVC overlay straight from London-based designer Roksanda's fall 2014 runway show.

The Wearer: Actress (and one half of music duo Got a Girl) Mary Elizabeth Winstead

The Event: The New York City premiere of Kill the Messenger, the crime drama she co-stars in opposite Jeremy Renner, which is based on the true story of journalist Gary Webb.

Why We Dig It: Instead of piling on the jewelry or slipping into bedazzled pumps, the 29-year-old decided to let this striped and textured frock completely take center stage. Aubergine closed-toe stilettos and a simple black clutch keep the eye entranced by the details of this dress. And given that the screening took place at the Museum of Modern art, we're betting Winstead was the piece de resistance of the evening.
