Dror Moreh's Doc 'The Gatekeepers' Inks Deals for U.K., Ireland and Australia
Metrodome acquires the doc for U.K. and Ireland, Madman corrals film for Oz.
LONDON – Dror Moreh's The Gatekeepers has secured theatrical passage to U.K., Irish and Australian movie screens with Metrodome and Madman.
British independent Metrodome has snapped up U.K. and Ireland rights to the title which took its international bow during the Toronto Film Festival and aired at both Telluride and the New York Film Festival.
Madmen picked up Australian rights to the picture which sees six former heads of Israel’s domestic secret service agency, the Shin Bet, share their insights and reflect publicly on their actions and decisions for the first time ever.
The film was acquired pre-TIFF by Sony Pictures Classics and is produced by Dror Moreh Productions, Les Films du Poisson, and Cinephil.
The UK/Ireland deal was negotiated by head of acquisitions Joel Kennedy and acquisitions manager Giles Edwards of Metrodome and Philippa Kowarsky for Cinephil Sales.
The Australian deal was negotiated by Paul Wiegard for Madman and Kowarsky.
