DreamWorks has optioned the action-comedy spec "The Secret Lives of Road Crews" by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, with Hal Lieberman producing.

The story revolves around a clandestine group of road crew workers who are the last line of defense against a subterranean alien race.

DreamWorks' Marc Haimes will shepherd the project for the studio, while Hal Lieberman Co. executive Brian Paschal will oversee for the shingle.

Lund and Scott recently sold an untitled action pitch to New Line Cinema, with Temple Hill Entertainment's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing and Channing Tatum attached to star.

They previously set up "Vivaldi" at Columbia Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.

The pair is repped by the Gersh Agency, managers Jon Brown and Jeffrey Thal of Ensemble Entertainment and attorney Karl Austen.
