MADRID -- U.S. distributor Fantastic Films International has signed a strategic distribution agreement with Spanish animation company Dygra, the production house announced Friday.

The deal will see Fantastic handle the worldwide distribution of Dygra's third feature, "Espiritu del Bosque," while calling on the two companies to work toward increasing Dygra's international presence and ensuring the animation company a regular U.S. distributor.

The deal also calls for a U.S. version of "Espiritu," to be produced with A-list actors lending their voices to the project.

"The deal means a big jump on the road to the internationalization of our productions and is a signal of the interest our products stir in the rest of the world," Dygra president Manolo Gomez said. "I'm very excited about this new stage of collaboration with Fantastic Films that will allow us to handle international sales from a global perspective and give us a foothold in such a difficult market as the U.S."

Dygra's previous features -- "El Bosque Animado" and "El Sueno de una noche de San Juan"-- set a new style of animation in Spain. It's newest film, now in production, is titled "Noche de Paz."
