E! news France set for Numericable
CANNES -- E! will now be a bigger part of the French television alphabet with new localized French versions of the network's news programs set to launch on national cable operator Numericable.
First launched in France in 2004 and already available to subscribers of rival cable package Canalsat, E! will now be seen by Numericable's basic digital cable homes.
The new E! news a la francaise is hosted by TV personality Sandrine Quetier and will feature "a special correspondent," journalist Emmanuel De Brantes, reporting from high-profile events.
"E! programming has proven audience appeal with such popular franchises as our '101' and '50 Most Entertainment Countdown' miniseries, the 'E! True Hollywood Story,' 'Dr. 90210' and 'Live From the Red Carpet' resonating well with viewers in the region," Comcast International managing director Brad Wald said. "We're delighted to further extend our brand in France with this launch on Numericable."
E! will continue its worldwide presence with a parallel launch in Turkey on Digiturk's extended basic package "Aile Paketi," Comcast also announced. E! also will be available in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
