The Wasserman family has announced that the memorial for Edie Wasserman, who died Aug. 18 at 95, will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The event will be open to the public. The only request is that there be no cameras or videos.

Wasserman, a noted philanthropist, patron of education and the arts, was for decades seen as the “first lady” of Hollywood. She was best known for her work with the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

Her husband, Lew, had been the longtime chairman of Universal. He died in 2002. They were married for over 65 years.
