EFA to Honor Christoph Waltz, Charlotte Rampling
The two stars will be picking up honorary awards at the Dec. 12 event in Berlin.
He'll have (possibly) been elaborately blown to pieces by Daniel Craig in Spectre, but just a few weeks later Christoph Waltz is set to drop into Berlin for the European Film Awards.
The two-time Oscar winner will be presented with the European Achievement in World Cinema award at the event on Dec 12., celebrated for a film career that only burst into the international limelight following 2009's Inglourious Basterds.
Waltz will be joined at the Dec. 12 event by Charlotte Rampling, who will be picking up the honorary Lifetime Achievement Award.
The British actress – a five-time EFA nominee and winner in 2003 for Swimming Pool – will be celebrated for a career spanning six decades and films including The Night Porter, Heading South, Stardust Memories, Under the Sand, Max My Love and Melancholia. Rampling's latest drama, 45 Years – which is part of this year's EFA selection – saw her win the Silver Bear award in Berlin in February.
