Chris Pine, along with Shawn Christian, Bre Blair, John Hawkes, Robert Pine, Lin Shaye, Muse Watson and Brent Briscoe, are starring in "Small Town Saturday Night." The indie film is from writer-director Ryan Craig.

"Small Town" centers on a country musician who discovers that the desire to follow his dream conflicts with his desire to be with the woman he loves while at the same time following the lives of townsfolk whose lives the two impact.

The fim is financed by Perfect Weekend and produced by Charlie Mason, Justin Moore-Lewy, Wonder Fortune Serra and Craig.

Craig broke into the business as an on-set assistant to Paula Wagner during the production of "Without Limits" and went on helm videos for country Western artists and worked with Phil Vassar.

The movie also will have a strong country feel to it, with Craig using his Nashville relationships to include country music star cameos. Original country music songs and the score will be composed by Steve Dorff. Vassar also will contribute to the soundtrack, and Chris Young will perform the title song.

The film, which Craig workshopped at the 2006 Sundance Independent Producers Conference, is shooting in Crestline, Calif.

Perfect Weekend recently completed "Still Waters," starring Jason Clarke, Lake Bell and Clifton Collins Jr. As executive producers, Mason and Moore-Lewy are in postproduction on "Sleepwalking," starring Charlize Theron and Nick Stahl.

Craig, who also has helmed several television series and telefilms, is repped by Barnes, Morris.
