Electus Digital Brings Reality Series 'Road to Total Slaughter' to Fuse (Exclusive)
The rap-battle reality program "Road to Total Slaughter" will debut June 18 on Fuse.
Electus Digital has struck a licensing deal with Fuse to bring rap-battle reality series Road to Total Slaughter to the music-focused cable network this summer.
The series, co-produced by Eminem's Shady Films and Electus Digital's hip-hop web property WatchLOUD.com, will debut June 18 at midnight on Fuse. Additional episodes of the four-part series will roll out weekly following the premiere.
Road to Total Slaughter is a reality competition that follows eight up-and-coming battle MCs who live together as they vie to join single-elimination tournament Total Slaughter at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on July 12. Battle rap legends Loaded Lux and Murda Mook mentor the contestants, and each episode ends with a competition judged by Shady Records crew Slaughterhouse. Following each episode's Fuse premiere, WatchLOUD will post an extended, uncensored version and other bonus footage.
"This partnership with Fuse provides an invaluable platform to bring the culture and sport of battle rap to a wider audience," said Montrel McKay, executive director of development at Electus. "The team at Fuse believes in our and Shady Films' vision for the potential of battle rap, and it's exciting to have a partner who's willing to take an unfiltered and authentic look into this world."
Fuse will also air Bright Lights, a documentary special that looks at the lives of four Total Slaughter headliners as they prepare for the main event, on July 10. Both projects are executive produced by Electus' Ben Silverman, Drew Buckley, Evan Bregman and McKay and Shady Films' Paul Rosenberg and Eminem.
Electus Digital was formed in January through a merger with IAC's CollegeHumor Media.
