Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group Strikes First Look Deals With Absolutely Independent
The global producer has struck deals with the Dutch format group in Spain and Germany.
LONDON – Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group has struck a first look production deal with Dutch format house Absolutely Independent for Shine Iberia and Shine Germany.
The deal gives Shine Germany and Shine Iberia full access to Absolutely Independent’s format catalog, which includes popular-selling shows The Singing Office, Find My Family, The Exit List and The Phone.
Shine Iberia will have the first look option to produce formats for Portugal and Spain, while Shine Germany will have the option to produce formats for Germany.
The deal follows a reciprocal first look deal between Shine Group and Zodiak Rights last year for Italy and Germany.
Absolutely Independent was founded in 1996 by Patty Geneste as one of the first independent European companies to distribute television formats. The company has now sold over 60 produced formats to clients in more than 50 countries, including the U.S.A, Scandinavia, Germany, Spain, in addition to The Netherlands.
