Emiliano Calemzuk Exits Shine Americas

There are no immediate plans to replace the former Fox TV Studios president, who will take the summer off to travel with his family.
Emiliano Calemzuk is out at Shine.
In what has been described as an amicable departure, the chief executive of Shine Americas has announced he will be leaving the group. There are no immediate plans to replace him, with the team now reporting to Carl Fennessy, chief executive of Shine Group USA.
"Emiliano has had a transformative effect on Shine's US operations since joining in 2010. In restructuring Reveille and establishing Shine Americas he has created an incredible team, equipped to now build on the successes to date and committed to future growth. He will be missed but I respect his request to take time off and wish him the very best in doing so," said Shine Group chief executive and chairman Elisabeth Murdoch in a statement.

Added Calemzuk: "I have very much enjoyed my time at the Shine Group and am very proud of the quality of the management team now in place in the Americas... After a fast-paced and fulfilling decade and a half in executive management roles across business lines and continents I am ready to start a new chapter in my life after travelling this summer with my family."
Prior to Shine, Calemzuk spent three years as president of Fox TV Studios, where he was best known for trying to shake up broadcast television's financial model. Rather than trudge through the costly and uncertain pilot process, he partnered with international broadcasters and looked to get networks to commit to 13 episodes sight unseen. His results were mixed, with lower risk effforts such as Fox's Mental and ABC's Defying Gravity lasting only one season.
Previous stints within the News Corp umbrella had him serving in executive roles at Fox International Channels Italy and Fox Latin American Channels.
