Elizabeth Taylor's 1956 Lincoln Vehicle To Display at L.A. Auto Show (Exclusive Photos)
The Continental Mark II once owned by the iconic actress is showcasing for one day at the "Lincoln’s Heritage" display on Nov. 28.
In celebration of Lincoln’s introduction of its new luxury car models MKZ and MKZ Hybrid at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the auto company also will display seven vintage vehicles including Elizabeth Taylor’s classic 1956 Lincoln Continental Mark II on Nov. 28.
The Oscar-winning actress’ car was made with custom paint that reflected her violet eyes and given to her as a gift by Warner Bros. for her role in the film Giant. As with every Continental Mark II, this Lincoln was handmade with the goal of creating the most luxurious, well-produced car of that time in America. Taylor's vehicle most recently was displayed in 1980 when it won the Ford trophy at the Lincoln and Continental Commercial Owners Club national meet.

Other famous owners of the timeless Lincoln model were President Dwight Eisenhower, U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. The current owners of Taylor's former ride are Robert and Nancy Ratinoff, who purchased the car from a Lincoln collector in Missouri with no knowledge that it once belonged to the legendary actress. The couple has owned the celebrated vehicle since 2007.
The six other vintage Lincolns on display will be the 1929 Dietrich Convertible Coupe, 1932 KB LeBaron Convertible Roadster, 1937 Derham Sport Sedan, 1937 Zephyr Coupe-Sedan, 1940 Continental Cabriolet and 1961 Continental Sedan.
The one-day “Lincoln’s Heritage” exhibit is held for press on Nov. 28, while the new 2013 Lincoln MKZ premium midsize sedan and MKZ Hybrid will showcase Nov. 29.
