“The only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another."

Ellen DeGeneres responded to a Christian Post column that claimed Hollywood had a "gay agenda" and specifically criticized the daytime talk show host. Larry Tomczak wrote, "Ellen DeGeneres celebrates her lesbianism and 'marriage' in between appearances of guests like Taylor Swift to attract young girls."

During her show, DeGeneres reacted to the article with humor and grace. "Larry, I don’t even know what it means to celebrate my lesbianism," she said. Then she changed her mind, "Well, I guess I do," she said setting off a popper. "Yay! I'm gay!"

On a more serious note, she clarified her true agenda: "The only way I’m trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another."

The talk show host jokingly "brainwashed" the audience with her message to the youth of the world. "I want you to live your lives being exactly who you are. Be true to yourself — the most important thing is to be true to yourself."
