Justin Timberlake is Elton John's No. 1 Choice to Play Him in Biopic
The British singer says the film has finally landed a director and he already knows who should play him.
Elton John says that a biopic based on his life is still in the works and fans should watch for an announcement “very soon.” But, when it comes to casting the most important role in the film, John knows exactly who should step into his bedazzled shoes.

"I've got a wish list of people,” the singer tells the L.A. Times after it asked who should play him in the planned film. “No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.”
John says the film will feature songs from his career and possibly a few new ones. Written by Billy Elliot scribe, Lee Hall, the singer describes the film as a “surreal” look at his life rather than a strictly factual account -- much in the vein of Moulin Rouge. He also says they’ve found a director, though it won’t be Moulin Rouge’s Baz Luhrman.

“We tried to get Baz, but Baz is so busy,” he says of finding the film’s director. “We can't announce it yet, but we have got someone on board that we're very excited about.”
John says they’re currently working on the script “and then we'll start trying to cast and plan.” Timberlake, your move. Timberlake most recently starred in Bad Teacher and Friends With Benefits.
