Emilia Clarke to Star in Indie Psychological Thriller 'Voice From the Stone'

Emilia Clarke is set to star in the indie psychological thriller Voice From the Stone.

Eric D. Howell will make his feature directorial debut with the film, which is based on the Italian novel La Voce Della Pietra by Silvio Raffo. Andrew Shaw is adapting the screenplay.

Set in 1950s Tuscany, Voice From the Stone centers on a nurse (Clarke) who is helping a boy through the trauma of his mother’s sudden death. As she works with the troubled child, she becomes ensnared by a malevolent force inside the family’s castle.

Voice From the Stone is scheduled to start principal photography in November in Italy.

Dean Zanuck and Stefano Gallini-Durante are producing the Zanuck Independent and Code 39 Films production. Mark Wheaton is executive producing. 

Clarke stars in HBO's hit series Game of Thrones. Her credits also include Dom Hemingway opposite Jude Law and Demian Bichir and the upcoming Terminator: Genesis, directed by frequent Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor. Last year, she made her Broadway debut as Holly Golightly in the stage adaptation of Truman Capote’s classic 1958 novella Breakfast at Tiffany's. She is repped by CAA and Emptage-Hallett in the U.K.

Howell's credits include the short films Ana’s Playground and Strangers.

Zanuck’s producing credits include Get Low starring Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Bill Murray and the upcoming The Zero Theorem starring Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton.

Gallini-Durante was executive producer of the indie White Shadow along with Ryan Gosling. He also produced the feature documentary En La Caliente, which was filmed in Cuba and is now in post-production.
