"I saw this thing on YouTube a couple years ago of these three girls in their kitchen in Sweden singing a song playing butter tubs and I've been practicing ever since," Rudolph said. "No pressure, just two gals hanging out with butter tubs."

Inspiration comes from so many places. Like, sometimes you find it in a weird black and white YouTube video from 2011 of the Swedish band Erato performing Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend" on butter tubs in their kitchen. That only half explains why Emma Stone and Maya Rudolph busted out their butter bins on Tuesday night on the season finale of the Maya & Marty show to give their own spin on "Girlfriend."

"I saw this thing on YouTube a couple years ago of these three girls in their kitchen in Sweden singing a song playing butter tubs and I've been practicing ever since," Rudolph said. "No pressure, just two gals hanging out with butter tubs."

What followed was some serious clapping, tapping, flipping and beautiful harmonies.
