Emma Stone Handles Her Awkward Hug Like a Champ at Golden Globes
"That was weird."
Not that we didn't know before, but Emma Stone is all of us.
During Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, the actress went in to give La La Land director Damien Chazelle a hug when he was announced best screenplay winner — only to be denied a warm embrace in return. Instead, Chazelle went to hug his girlfriend, Olivia Hamilton. But Stone laughed it off, appearing to say, "That was weird. I'm sorry."
The cast and crew of La La Land had much to celebrate during the awards ceremony as they took home seven golden statues, breaking the record for most wins for a single film at the event. In addition to winning best motion picture musical or comedy, La La Land's Chazelle took home the prize for best director, Ryan Gosling for best performance by an actor in a motion picture musical or comedy and Emma Stone for best performance by an actress in a motion picture musical or comedy.
A city of stars, indeed.
