Emmys Fashion: This Is the Designer Behind Taylor Schilling's Dress
Meet Zuhair Murad, who also dressed Camila Alves on Monday's carpet
Not a bad weekend for Lebanese designer and couturier Zuhair Murad, who already dressed Beyonce and Nina Dobrev for the VMAs. Now, he's dressed Taylor Schilling and Camila Alves for Monday's Emmy Awards.
Schilling's gown was in blush — the hot color of the summer and fall season. Flattering? You bet. Alves also stunned on the carpet in an off-white, figure-hugging lace illusion gown, which showed off a lot of skin.
Murad — who, like fellow gown maker Elie Saab, was born in Lebanon — is definitely on a roll, it seems, as he also has fans in Rachel McAdams and Megan Fox. After first sketching gowns at age 10 and starting his first line in 1997, the designer has been showing his collection in Paris Fashion Week after its premiere in Rome in 1999. He's also part of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris, one of the most prestigious trade unions in the French fashion industry.
Given his designs at this year's VMAs and Emmys red carpet, the Hollywood set seems to be catching on to the Beirut-based designer's one-of-a-kind creations. And we can see why.
