Creative Arts Emmys: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Peter Scolari, Hank Azaria and Margo Martindale Win Best Guest Actor and Actress Awards

Martindale's win is a record for back-to-back drama guest actress awards at the Emmys.

On Saturday, the first night of the Creative Arts Emmys, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Peter Scolari, Hank Azaria and Margo Martindale took home the awards for best guest actors.

The duo of Fey and Poehler won for best guest actress in a comedy series for their co-hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live, while Scolari (Girls) won on the actor side. Accepting on Azaria's (Ray Donovan) behalf, Bob Newhart picked up the award for best guest actor in a drama series, and Martindale (The Americans) took home the actress honor.

Other nominees for best guest actor/actress in a comedy series included Larry David (Saturday Night Live), Tracy Morgan (Saturday Night Live), Martin Mull (Veep), Bob Newhart (The Big Bang Theory), Bradley Whitford (Transparent), Christine Baranski (The Big Bang Theory), Melora Hardin (Transparent), Melissa McCarthy (Saturday Night Live), Laurie Metcalf (The Big Bang Theory) and Amy Schumer (Saturday Night Live).

Among the competitors for best guest actor/actress in a drama series were Mahershala Ali (House of Cards), Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards), Michael J. Fox (The Good Wife), Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Max von Sydow (Game of Thrones), Ellen Burstyn (House of Cards), Allison Janney (Masters of Sex), Laurie Metcalf (Horace and Pete), Molly Parker (House of Cards) and Carrie Preston (The Good Wife).

Last year's winners included Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards) for best guest actor in a drama series, Martindale (The Americans) for best guest actress in a drama series, Bradley Whitford (Transparent) for best guest actor in a comedy series, and Joan Cusack (Shameless) for best guest actress in a comedy series

The Creative Arts Emmys are being held Saturday and Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and the show will air Sept. 17, the night before the Primetime Emmys, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.
