Endemol Beyond, Just Entertainment Strike First-Look Deal With Nylon (Exclusive)

The digital arm of Endemol Shine North America and Justin Hochberg's production company will look to develop content from the magazine for digital, scripted and unscripted projects.

Endemol Beyond USA and Just Entertainment Studios are looking to bring the Nylon brand to small screens. 

The two companies have entered into an exclusive partnership with the magazine and digital publisher that includes a first-look development deal and cross promotion of Endemol Beyond and Nylon programming. 

Under the deal, the digital arm of Endemol Shine North America and Justin Hochberg's production company — which is housed within Endemol Shine through a deal struck this summer — will have a first look at developing Nylon content for potential scripted, unscripted and digital projects. One of the first projects they will work on is a longform series about the magazine company, which was founded in the late '90s to cover fashion and pop culture. Nylon will also be the launch partner on Just Entertainment's upcoming e-commerce series She's Gotta Have It, a co-development with Endemol's Icon Network. 

"Working with two massively successful partners like Endemol Beyond USA and Just Entertainment creates unique opportunities to expand on powerful existing franchises and build exciting new ones," said Nylon CEO Paul Greenberg. "We can all expand our distribution and continue to reach our audiences wherever they are." 

Another component of the deal is a plan for Endemol Beyond and Nylon to cross distribute and cross promote content across platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Vessel.

Added Endemol Beyond interim CEO Adrian Sexton: "Both our premium lifestyle network Icon and upcoming pop culture-focused network Looksy fit seamlessly with Nylon's popular multi-media and magazine efforts and we look forward to discovering innovative new content and creators together." 

Endemol Shine launched Endemol Beyond in 2013 to create a small network of YouTube stars and create content for digital platforms. Earlier this year, Endemol teamed with beauty guru Michelle Phan for the launch of the Icon Network. Endemol Shine signed an exclusive multi-platform deal with Hochberg's Just Entertainment in July to produce unscripted series and branded content.
