Endemol UK Sets Up Production Outfit with Charlie Brooker, Annabel Jones
Brooker, a well-known British commentator and satirist, has produced several series with Jones, including the International Emmy-winning “Black Mirror.”
British satirist Charlie Brooker and long-time production collaborator Annabel Jones have set up a new production shingle, House of Tomorrow, at Endemol UK, the British division of the global TV giant.
The operation, which already has projects in development at US and UK networks, will produce TV series and feature films for the UK and international markets.
Brooker will be creative director at House of Tomorrow with Jones as managing director. The pair previously worked on several series produced through Endemol-owned comedy shop Zeppotron. Their collaborations included Black Mirror, a satirical near-future sci-fi drama aired on Chanel 4 and the detective spoof A Touch of Cloth, which went on on pay network Sky 1.
Jones was previously head of business development at Endemol UK as well as heading up its mergers and acquisitions group.
House of Tomorrow marks a further move into scripted entertainment for reality-heavy Endemol. Just last week, the Big Brother production company signed a first-look production and development deal with Mam Tor Productions Limited, the new shingle launched by former film and TV agent Tally Garner.

Earlier this year, Endemol acquired Artists Studio, which produce the critically-acclaimed crime series The Fall featuring Gillian Anderson and Fifty Shade of Grey star Jamie Dornan. Endemol UK also owns Tiger Aspect Productions, whose dramas include the period series Ripper Street and Peaky Blinders.
