Endemol's Caroline Baumgard Joins Banijay Studios
David Goldberg's Banijay Studios North America has made its first key hire.
Endemol's Caroline Baumgard has been tapped to serve as chief creative officer of the newly launched L.A.-based nonscripted production company, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
With the hire, Baumgard will reunite with Endemol alum and BSNA CEO David Goldberg, to whom she will report.
In her new role, Baumgard will develop original content for the company across multiple genres for the North American market, which will also roll out globally through Banijay Group's growing production capabilities. She'll be based in Los Angeles and will start immediately.
Baumgard joined Endemol USA in 2001, where she spearheaded nonscripted development, including format adaptations for the U.S. market. During her run, she developed Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Wipeout for ABC as well as Deal or No Deal for NBC as well as syndicated daytime talk show Steve Harvey.
"For more than 12 years, Caroline’s skills and expertise in identifying and creating potential future hits were a key driving force in the growth of Endemol USA. I'm delighted to be able to work with Caroline to do it all over again with Banijay Studios North America," Goldberg said. "Her experience, contacts and creative instincts will play a vital role in the development of this exciting new company with the by-product resulting in the creation of formats that will travel abroad and help fuel the growth of our global business."
Banijay Group formed BSNA at MIPTV. Goldberg oversees the group's expansion into English-language territories and Latin America and reports to Banijay Group CEO Marco Bassetti.
