Endemol's Paul Johnson stepping down

Will leave marketing, branding post at end of the month

LONDON -- Endemol global head of marketing and brand partnerships Paul Johnson is to step down from the reality and drama producer at the end of the year, CEO Ynon Kreiz said Friday.

Johnson, who oversaw the rebranding of Endemol Group and Endemol Worldwide Distribution as well as the launch of the upcoming Jerry Seinfeld-produced "The Marriage Ref," will step down from day-to-day responsibilities at the end of December, but will continue to consult for Endemol on special projects in the first quarter of next year.

"Paul has carried out a very valuable role during a time of significant change at Endemol," Kreiz said. "We will miss his energy, dedication and motivation, which have been second to none."

Johnson, who joined Endemol less than a year ago, said that changes in the business prompted his departure.

"As the business has changed so too have Endemol's strategy and structure. As a result, I've concluded that the time is right for me to move on."

Before joining Endemol, Johnson was director of MIPTV and MIPCOM at Reed Midem and formerly head of European sales at the Hollywood Reporter.
