Entertainment One Takes Worldwide Rights to William Shatner Documentary
"The Captains" follows Captain Kirk from his early Montreal roots to overnight success in "Star Trek."
TORONTO - Canadian distributor Entertainment One has picked up the worldwide distribution rights to William Shatner’s pay TV documentary The Captains from indie producers Ballinran Entertainment and Le Big Boss Productions.
The Canadian feature documentary captures Shatner's career arc from his Montreal roots and early classic stage career in Stratford, Ontario, to overnight success as Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek.
Shatner wrote and directed The Captains, which was executive produced by Shatner, Kevin Layne, David Zappone and Craig Thompson.
The documentary features appearances by Patrick Stewart, Chris Pine, Avery Brooks, Scott Bakula and Kate Mulgrew.
The Movie Network and Movie Central are airing The Captains on their respective Canadian pay TV networks.
