EU, TFI back MIPTV Content 360 competition

New categories also added to Cannes event

PARIS -- The European Commission and leading French TV broadcaster TF1 have joined the list of sponsors for MIPTV's fifth annual Content 360 cross-media competition, Reed MIDEM said Tuesday.

The competition is currently open for submissions and winners will receive financial backing in addition to international recognition for their creative projects.

The European Commission has teamed up with France's leading online video platform Dailymotion for a new category, complete with €10,000 ($14,425) cash prize, open to professionals and the general public awarding the best video clips that combine EU archives with user-generated content.

TF1 will join Content 360's founding partners the BBC, the National Film Board of Canada and the Korea Communications Commission for a new category focusing on new cross-media advertising formats for TF1 ad subsidiary TF1 Publicite.

Content 360 will also launch a new "Next Generation Audience Engagement" category.

The finalists for all categories will be announced in late February and will be in Cannes to promote their projects during a series of pitching sessions before the winners are announced on April 14th. The MIPTV market runs April 12th-16th in Cannes.
