EuroNews rebrands to take on rivals

24-hour channel reaches 200 mil households

BRUSSELS -- European news channel EuroNews relaunched Wednesday night with a new brand identity aimed at competing head-on with rivals CNN, BBC World, CNBC and Al Jazeera.

Run by a consortium of public broadcasters, the 24-hour TV channel, available on satellite, cable and IPTV, EuroNews has a global reach of 200 million households in 134 countries. Broadcast in seven languages, it has no onscreen anchors but rather uses voiceover narration to accompany news footage.
