Evan Rachel Wood Debuts Pixie Haircut
The "True Blood" actress says, "I've always wanted to do it and never really had the guts."
True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood debuted a new pixie haircut at Tuesday night's Season 4 premiere party in Los Angeles.
Wood, who has favored long locks throughout her acting career, hit the event with a short coif with bangs long enough to comb into a big swoop.
She told Access Hollywood, "It just felt right. I had my hair super long and I was just ready for a change and I've always wanted to do it and never really had the guts and I just thought, 'I wanna do it at least once, just chop it off.'
Wood has a recurring role on the HBO vampire series as Sophie-Anne Leclerq, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana. She's also in George Clooney's Ides of March, which opens the Venice Film Festival at the end of August.
She also recently appeared on the cable channel's miniseries Mildred Pierce as Kate Winslet's rebellious (and naked!) daughter, and has had turns in the 2003 drama Thirteen, Across the Universe and The Wrestler.
