Evening Newscasts Expand to An Hour to Cover San Bernardino Shooting

Authorities do not have a motive for the shooting at a center for people with developmental disabilities.

The broadcast evening newscasts will expand to one hour Wednesday evening to cover the shooting in San Bernardino that has left 14 people dead and multiple suspects still at large.

ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, NBC's Nightly News with Lester Holt and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley will air from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with live updates for the networks' West Coast broadcasts. 

Authorities do not have a motive for the shooting at a center for people with developmental disabilities.

CBS News anchor Norah O'Donnell had a previously scheduled sit-down with President Obama at the White House on Wednesday. The president lamented that mass shootings are all too common.

"We should come together in a bipartisan basis at every level of government to make these rare as opposed to normal," he said.
