Berlin 2013: Action Concept, e'topia and The Film Farm Team Up for 'Evie's Apple'
The feature, described as a magical realism love story, will shoot in Germany and Canada this summer with Tobias Meinecke attached to direct.
BERLIN -- Cologne-based Action Concept International, Toronto production group The Film Farm and New York/Berlin-based shingle e'topia have joined forces to co-produce Evie's Apple, described as a "love story wrapped in magical realism" set to begin shooting this summer in Canada and Germany.
Evie's Apple is set in New York state apple country and follows the young titular heroine, who gets lost in search for the love of her life.

Backing for the feature will come from Premiere Picture, e'topia and private equity sources with additional funding from London-based music financier/producer Cutting Edge as well as German and Canadian regional subsidies and a gap lender.
Commercials director and e'topia founder Tobias Meinecke will direct Evie's Apple from his own script, based on an original story by Jay C. Key. Meinecke will produce together with Simone Urdl, Jennifer Weiss and Stephen Traynor of The Film Farm, who are currently in production on Atom Egoyan's Queen of the Night; and Daniel Hetzer and Kay Niessen of Action Concept International, who were co-producer on Ron Howard's upcoming feature Rush.
