EXCLUSIVE: Valhalla Taps Beatrice Springborn as Exec VP Production, Development

Executive has worked on films including "House at the End of the Street," "The Raven," "The Prestige" and "Hamlet 2."

Beatrice Springborn has been appointed executive vp production and development for Valhalla Motion Pictures.

Valhalla CEO Gale Anne Hurd brought Springborn aboard to ramp up development and production with the existing development team of Ben Roberts, Kris Henigman and Phillip Kobylanski.

"We're thrilled to have such a well-versed and dynamic executive as Beatrice join our team," Hurd said. "With her impressive experience in both development and production, she will be invaluable as Valhalla moves forward with our expanding slate of television, feature and animation projects."

Before joining Valhalla, Springborn served as vp production for FilmNation Entertainment, where she produced House at the End of the Street and worked on The Raven and F*cking Engaged. She also has worked for Raygun Prods., where she developed The Prestige, Hamlet 2 and The TV Set and produced My One and Only.

"Valhalla's exciting and smart slate of TV and film projects coupled with Gale's expertise, skills and impeccable taste make this the perfect place to begin a new chapter in my career," said Springborn, who began her film career in development at Pixar.

A veteran film producer (Hulk, The Terminator, The Abyss), Hurd has The Boston Stranglers, Close Quarters and Magdalena in development at Valhalla. On the TV side, the company has produced The Walking Dead, which AMC begins airing the week of Oct. 31.
