Kimberly Meyers has been named director of diversity at WGA West, where she will communicate with production companies, producers, networks and studios to promote a higher profile for writers of diverse backgrounds. She was head of development for feature films, television series and telefilms at Maya Pictures.
Marissa Lopez has been upped to West Coast assistant manager at Peermusic Latin, the world's largest independent music publisher. Lopez, who had been West Coast creative assistant at the Latin division, will manage administrative activities and work closely with talent. Before joining Peermusic, she directed promotions at La Banda Elastica, a Latin rock magazine.
Sandra Szahun has been appointed vp national promotions at the Walt Disney Co.'s Buena Vista Television, where she will be responsible for creating and implementing advertising partnerships and promotional programs for the company's off-net and first-run programming that includes "Live With Regis and Kelly," "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and "Ebert & Roeper." Szahun was with the ad sales group at NBC Universal's Bravo and director of integrated sales and marketing at Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
Mitch Gates has been named CG supervisor at Encore Hollywood, where he will oversee the facility's CG department and work to expand its capabilities and reach. Gates was senior technical director at Digital Dimension and worked on more than a dozen films, including "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," "Blade: Trinity" and "Norbit."
Jeff Elgart has been appointed senior vp corporate advertising sales and sponsorships at here!, where he will oversee advertising and sponsorship initiatives for media and branded entertainment across all the network's platforms. He was senior vp at Access 360 Media.
Pat Jones has been upped to senior vp account services at Carat Entertainment/MY Entertainment Co. She has held numerous positions in television production at Spike TV, Comedy Central and Oxygen and worked in marketing and live-event production at General Motors EventWorks.
Ken Lucek has been named vp CHR promotion, West Coast, at the Zomba Label Group. Lucek, who was vp promotion at Capitol Records, will develop and execute strategies to market and promote Zomba's artists to radio. Also, Beata Czechowski has been named director of rhythm/crossover promotion, West Coast, at Zomba. Czechowski was music director/assistant program director at WLLD in Tampa, Fla. Czechowski will be based in Los Angeles and report to John Strazza, vp rhythm/crossover promotion.
