Dee McLaughlin has been upped to vp marketing at Virgin Entertainment Group North America. McLaughlin will oversee all marketing and PR initiatives for the Virgin Megastores and Virgin Entertainment Group. She will continue to oversee market research, event marketing and media planning as well as manage the content of the new Virgin Megastores Web site and the creative branding of the chain. She was senior director of marketing and director of brand marketing.



Lowell Singer has been named senior vp investor relations at the Walt Disney Co., where he will develop and implement comprehensive investor relationship programs and policies and advise Disney's senior management team. Singer joins Disney from Cowen and Co., where he was a senior research analyst and managing director.



Steve Goldsby has joined M3 Television as senior producer. He will be responsible for all postproduction and client delivery integration. Goldsby held a dual role at "Entertainment Tonight" as postproduction supervisor and DGA associate director. He has filled supervisory roles at ESPN, MGM, Paramount, Sony and Warner Bros.



Bret Marcus has been appointed vp programming, publicity and promotion at KCET-TV Los Angeles, where he will oversee local program production and publicity as well as advertising and promotion for the station's communications department. Marcus most recently was executive producer for special projects at NBC News.



David Di Lorenzo has been named vp retail marketing at Taffy Entertainment, a worldwide distribution, brand management and entertainment company. Di Lorenzo, who was vp development at DIC Entertainment and director of sales at Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, will oversee the development and implementation of merchandising and promotional programs across all North American retail distribution tiers.



Seth Carmichael has been appointed manager of acquisitions at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. He was director of acquisitions and development at Goldcrest Films International and co-producer of the Sundance Special Jury Prize winner "Brother to Brother."



Adam Granite has been upped to GM at Epic Records, where he will oversee the company's daily operations and help secure new partnerships for the label's talent roster. Granite, who joined Epic in 1996, most recently was vp finance and operations.



Bill Waddell has been named vp business affairs at Universal Music Enterprises, where he will be responsible for overseeing business and legal affairs for Universal Music Enterprises' front-line label, New Door Records. Waddell most recently was senior director of business affairs.



Industry veteran Bob Pollack has joined Legend Films as president. He will spearhead growth initiatives including increased retail distribution, studio relations and acquisitions. Pollack, who was senior vp Warner Bros. Home Video and founded and presided over Compass Prods., will serve alongside CEO David Marts and COO and chief technology officer Barry Sandrew.
