Lila Everett has been named senior vp marketing at Speed. Everett most recently was a consultant to Discovery Networks International, where she was responsible for formulating, building and implementing a global portfolio of lifestyle-based networks.



Melanne Mueller has been appointed senior vp at Universal Music Classical, where she will oversee U.S. marketing, new media, publicity and promotion for the company's artists and releases. Mueller comes to Universal from Avie Records in London, an independent record company she co-founded in 2002.



John Varvi has been upped to senior vp air promotions at FX. Varvi, who was vp on-air promotions, will continue to oversee the direction and execution of network on-air promotional projects and supervise multiple departments and personnel, including editorial, operations and planning and scheduling.



Nancy Alpert has joined A&E Television Networks as vp and deputy general counsel. Alpert will be responsible for legal matters relating to affiliate sales as well as standards and practices, rights management and litigation and intellectual property matters. Before joining A&E, Alpert was deputy general counsel and senior president of business and legal affairs at Court TV. She also held positions at Lifetime Television, iVillage Inc. and Telemundo Group Inc.



Jennifer Fowler has been promoted to vp digital marketing at RCA Music Group. Fowler was senior director of digital marketing at J/Arista Records and has worked on behalf of Alicia Keys, Rod Stewart, Luther Vandross and Gavin DeGraw.



Lisa Streff has been appointed vp domestic licensing at DIC Entertainment, where she will oversee the development and implementation of domestic licensing and merchandising programs for the company's slate of entertainment and lifestyle brands. Streff was executive director at DIC.



David Ring has been promoted to executive vp business development and business affairs, PreLabs, at Universal Music Group. Before joining UMG in 1996, Ring was in private practice, representing recording artists, labels, writers and producers, among others. He also worked at several Los Angeles law firms, where he handled intellectual property and business litigation with an emphasis on music and other entertainment-related issues.



World Wresting Entertainment has named Brian Kalinowski GM of digital media. Kalinowski will oversee Web, mobile content and interactive technology at WWE and will report to COO Michael Sileck. Kalinowski is a 20-year veteran of digital product development and marketing and most recently was COO at Lycos Inc., a position he was given in 2005.



Debra Birnbaum has been appointed executive editor of cross-platform content integration at Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. In the newly created position, she will enhance and maximize the creation and integration of content across the company's various media platforms. Before joining TV Guide as a consultant in January, Birnbaum was editor in chief of Life & Style.
