Extortion Case Involving Mel Gibson's Girlfriend Goes to Prosecutors
Los Angeles prosecutors are now determining whether criminal charges should be filed.
Sheriff's detectives have wrapped a seven-month extortion investigation into Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, reports AP.
Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Wednesday detectives handed over their results to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office around noon today to determine whether any criminal charges need to be filed.
The agency launched its investigation after Grigorieva claimed Gibson hit her during a fight last Janaury. It also was looking into Gibson's claims that she tried to extort him while they were working out a child custody arrangement.
