The first chart chatter about the week's most buzzed-about shows (hint: 'The Walking Dead' is the series to beat) on the social network

TV fanatics love to talk about their favorite shows, and now they'll have further proof that they aren’t alone.

The Hollywood Reporter has launched the TV Obsession Index, a weekly ranking of the 10 most talked-about shows on Facebook, using data provided by the social networking company. The rankings will be determined by what percentage of Facebook chatter about TV mentions a specific show.

“Facebook is at the center of the TV conversation as we all share, comment and like our way through a great season premiere or a crazy series plot twist,” says Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which includes The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. “With the launch of the TV Obsession Index, The Hollywood Reporter will offer fans the most incisive look into the data to reveal which shows, newcomers and talent are driving the most chatter and engagement."

This week's TV Obsession Index shows the undead are very much alive on Facebook, as The Walking Dead made up more than 14 percent of all conversations about TV last week. It also examines the surprising finding that women are dominating the conversations about nine out of the top 10 shows, including male-skewing dramas such as FX's Sons of Anarchy.

The TV Obsession Index will appear weekly on THR.com every Wednesday and in print in THR magazine. Click here for the first post, and check out the rankings below, which cover Monday Nov. 24-Sunday, Nov. 30.
