Fantasia Genre Film Fest Books Projects by Jennifer Lynch, Kern Saxton and Eric Walter

TORONTO – Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival has booked an international premiere for the Mark Hamill-starrer Sushi Girl, a crime thriller by director Kern Saxton.

The Canadian genre film festival is also giving a world premiere to Jennifer Lynch‘s latest film, Chained, which stars Vincent D’Onofrio as a taxi-driving serial killer who abducts a boy and raises him as his son and future serial killer.

Chained also stars Eamon Farren and Julia Ormond, who starred in Lynch’s 2008 indie pic Surveillance.

Fantasia will also give Despite the Gods, a documentary by Australian filmmaker Penny Vosniak about Lynch’s star-crossed adventures in India directing Hisss, a Bollywood/U.S. co-production, a Quebec premiere after it screened at Hot Docs.

Also getting a world premiere at Fantasia is Eric Walter’s My Amityville Horror, where Daniel Lutz recounts his version of the infamous Amityville haunting that terrified his family in 1975, when he was only 8 years old.

And there’s a world bow for Crave, a feature directorial debut for Charles de Lauzirika, which stars Ron Perlman and Edward Furlong, and Eron Sheean’s Errors of the Human Body, which stars Michael Eklund.

Additional announcements from Fantasia, which is set to run from July 19 to Aug. 7, will be made in the coming weeks.
