The Fat Jew Launches Animated Series With Maker Studios
The comedian, also known by his real name Josh Ostrovsky, voices the new series.
Love him or hate him, Josh Ostrovsky is now animated.
The popular social media personality known as The Fat Jew has teamed with Maker Studios for an animated series Story Time With Fat Jew, which features tales from Ostrovsky’s life.
Launched today, the series is voiced by Ostrovsky and features him recounting wacky real-life stories which are then animated. One feature will be the "dirt-bag list," which sees Ostrovsky recounting his dealings with famous people like Kanye West and Tyrese Gibson.
Each new episode will go live on Mondays at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on Ostrovsky's Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as on Maker.tv. The series was drawn and animated by TMWRK and Superette and co-produced by Matador Content and Maker Studios.
"Like a drunk uncle on Thanksgiving, I tell you a bunch of awesome stories that nobody will ever forget and might ruin dinner," Ostrovsky said in a statement.
Maker recently launched the animated adventure Pugatory voiced by PewDiePie and CutiePieMarzia, the digital talk show Party Fun Times hosted by Taryn Southern, and the skateboard travel adventure The Unge Quest, starring German gamer Simon Unge.
Ostrovsky, who has more than 7.5 million followers across his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He recently published his first book, Money Pizza Respect. With the book deal, animated series and talent representation, Ostrovsky's career continues to move forward in 2015, much to the dismay of many of his critics who have attacked the comedian for stealing jokes from other comedians, which he then repurposes for his own social media posts.
He has responded to the allegations in several interviews, including this recent interview with THR in which he said he wanted to give credit where credit is due.
