Oscars Beauty: This Is How Felicity Jones Gets Her Skin Red-Carpet Ready
The British bombshell's longtime makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani dishes on the Oscar nom's beauty routine.
Throughout this year's jam-packed awards season, makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani has been behind Oscar nominee Felicity Jones' signature flawless looks. From the Governors Ball to the Palm Springs Film Festival, the Golden Globes — and every major red-carpet in between — Bedrani has teamed up with the closely watched The Theory of Everything star to create her modern, fresh-faced makeup. Mere hours away from the biggest awards show of the year, Bedrani reveals the skincare tips and advice that has helped keep the Academy Award hopeful glowing all season long.
How would you describe Felicity's skin?
Felicity has beautiful, fair skin which can be sensitive at times from wearing so much makeup.
What are your top three pieces of advice you've given Felicity throughout awards season?
The most important thing is to keep your skin hydrated, so my first is always to drink a lot of water — especially when you travel as much as she does. Secondly, always take off your makeup at night. And scrub once a week [Bedrani recommends Dr. Lancer's The Method: Polish scrub] and do a hydrating mask, such as Dior's Hydra Life Rehydrating Mask.
Which makeup products do you use that have added benefits for Felicity's skin?
I like to use the Dior One Essential as a primer, it has a non-sticky finish, and refreshes the skin in an instant. I also like c for under eye because it contains vitamin E and fruit acid to nourish the skin, and Diorskin Nude Concealer because it not only covers dark circles but it also acts as an eye treatment.
What are the biggest changes Felicity has made in her skincare regime since you started working together?
I don’t think it has change that much; she takes good care of her skin. She maybe thinks of scrubbing and using masks more often.
What is your can't-live-without skincare product currently?
Bioderma Sensibio H2O, because it’s hypoallergenic and very gentle on skin and removes all makeup.
What's your hidden-weapon beauty product for fixing last-minute blemishes before a red carpet?
I usually rely on Diorskin Star concealer.
Any treatments you recommend before a big event?
Felicity is really low maintenance, however I always suggest that my clients get a facial a few days before the red carpet. My go-to person is Mila at European Skin Care Secret in Valley Village. She usually lets me know whether I need a regular facial or an oxygen mask. She's really good at adapting her services to your skincare needs.
