Will Ferrell to appear in 'Man vs. Wild'

Host Bear Grylls will show actor real-life survival tips

In a tie-in for Universal Pictures' upcoming movie "Land of the Lost," the film's star Will Ferrell guest stars on an episode of Discovery Channel's popular reality series "Man vs. Wild."

The episode, slated to air in early June around the June 5 release of "Land," features "Man vs. Wild" star Bear Grylls taking Ferrell through the paces of real-life survival in the ice-bound mountain and glacier ranges in the far north of Sweden.

Together, the two tandem-abseil off a helicopter, rappel down hundred-foot frozen waterfalls and build a shelter to stay warm overnight in subzero temperatures.

Grylls shows Ferrell what it takes to find food in the icy coniferous forests as they climb trees, improvise snow shoes from saplings, drink their own urine and even bite into reindeer eyeballs.

"Will did an amazing job in subzero very unforgiving conditions," Grylls said. "He should be very proud of how he performed."

Added Ferrell, "To be able to participate in an episode of 'Man vs. Wild' was a thrill of a lifetime, even though I did get urine-drunk, which is sad."
